Trust's SP-2650D set uses the same speaker design as the SP-3800D set, but it doesn't include a subwoofer. This is a bad idea as, without a dedicated bass speaker, they struggle to reproduce lower-mid frequencies and don't have any hope of producing bass.

Bizarrely, Trust seems to have tuned the 2650D's response to accentuate high rather than lower frequencies, resulting in a scratchy and harsh sound. There's a reasonable amount of clarity and detail, but we found it impossible to become accustomed to the complete lack of low frequencies. Turning up the volume beyond polite listening levels quickly replaced any sense of clarity with gurgling distortion.

The 140cm captive input cable might not reach under a desk, so you may need an extension cable to connect this set to your PC.

This inexpensive set will suffice for Windows alert sounds, but anyone who wants to play music, watch videos or play games should look elsewhere.
