SOHO Business Cards from Chronos is an application which, as its name suggests, is aimed at small businesses and individuals who want to create their own business cards.

It has an interface that will be familiar to anyone who has used one of Apple's iApps and has good integration with Address Book and iPhoto. The application ships on two CDs. The first contains the application itself, and the second has 13,000 photos and clip art images and 3000 business card templates. It supports five card formats: folding, CD, vertical, horizontal and double-sided. In addition, it's easy to import photos from your iPhoto Albums for use on cards. The supplied clip art is OK, but you'll want to use your own designs for a truly professional-looking result.

We found putting together basic cards very easy, though the application was sluggish on our PowerBook G4 867MHz and 800MHz eMac. The application automatically takes the information from your 'Me' Address Book entry and applies it to your chosen template. However, editing templates and adding our own touches was less intuitive than we'd like.

SOHO Business Cards is a useful application, but you'll have to spend a little time getting to know it to get the most from it.
