American muscle brand Chevrolet has announced UK pricing for its 45th Anniversary Camaro, available now alongside the more sedate standard-edition Coupé and Convertible models.
All models come with a Tremec TR6060 six-speed manual short-throw gearbox, with an automatic option available at an additional £1,500 on the price. A single engine option is available, a 6.2-litre V8 offering 432PS in the manual and 405PS in the automatic and capable of pushing the manual-gearbox Coupé to 62mph from a standing start in 5.2 seconds or the automatic Convertible in 5.6 seconds. All models are electronically limited to 155mph top speed.
Braking is provided by four-piston fixed Brembo aluminium callipers front and rear, while suspension at the front comprises a double-ball joint multi-link strut, direct-acting stabilising bar, progressive-rate coil springs, and fully adjustable camber, caster and toe. Rear suspension features 4.5-link independent progressive-rate springs over shocks, a stabiliser bar and fully adjustable camber and toe.
While the standard models are likely to make up the bulk of Chevrolet's sales in the UK, the 45th Anniversary Camaro is worth a second look. Finished in striking Carbon Flash Black with bespoke red and silver anniversary stripes, dark silver 20in alloy wheels, a unique 45th anniversary leather interior with red, white and blue stiching, and a one-off white-backed instrument panel, it's an eye-catching design.
Pricing for the standard Camaro Coupé starts at £34,995 rising to £39,995 for the soft-top Camaro Convertible, with the 45th Anniversary Camaro topping the range at £36,495 and £41,495 for the Coupé and Convertible models respectively. Chevrolet's order books are open now, with the first vehicles due to arrive in dealerships towards the end of spring.
