Mazda has confirmed UK pricing for its all-new CX-5 compact crossover sports utility vehicle (SUV.)
The first to include the company's innovative fuel-saving Skyactiv technology, the UK edition CX-5 will be available in a selection of four petrol or six diesel models offering a peak fuel economy of 61.4mpg in the combined cycle and carbon dioxide emissions as low as 119g per kilometre driven.
Mazda has confirmed three engine choices in total: petrol buyers will be offered a 2.0-litre Skyactiv 165ps model, while diesel fans get the choice of a 2.2-litre Skyactiv 150PS or a 175PS depending on requirements. Manual and automatic transmission options will be available, along with the choice of two-wheel or all-wheel drive systems.
The company has also confirmed four trim levels: SE-L, SE-L Nav, Sport and Sport Nav. As standard, the SE-L will include 17in alloy wheels, front fog lights, dual-zone climate control air conditioning, Smart City Brake Support technology, privacy glass and parking sensors at the front and rear. The SE-L Nav adds an integrated satellite navigation system, while the Sport range features 19in alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights with Active Front Lighting System, full leather trim, heated front seats, powered driver's seat and a reversing camera.
"As well as delivering a thrilling drive, great fuel economy up to 61.4mpg and low emissions down as low as 119g/km – thanks to its clever Skyactiv technology – the all-new Mazda CX-5 will offer motorists in Britain excellent value for money", claimed Mazda's Peter Allibon at the announcement. "Thanks to its solid environmental credentials, fun-to-drive performance and attractive pricing, the Mazda CX-5 is expected to have huge customer appeal. The range of SKYACTIV technologies allows Mazda to build cars that deliver class-leading fuel consumption and emissions, without the price premium charged by other brands for hybrids and electric vehicles."
The new Mazda CX-5 is available for pre-order now through Mazda's dealership network.
