Isuzu has offered a teaser image for its upcoming D-Max pick-up, due to launch in June this year as an entirely new offering for the sector.

While the light-cluster image leaves a lot to the imagination, the company has also released some preliminary details regarding the vehicle's design ahead of a more detailed announcement next month.

According to Isuzu's announcement, the new D-Max will be designed around an aggressive and imposing exterior styling and will include impressive load capacity, towing capabilities and off-road performance. Internally, the driver and passengers will be treated to a spacious and refined cabin design with high-quality materials and an above-average standard specification, Isuzu claims.

The powertrain will be based around a selection of extensively redeveloped common-rail diesel engines, boasting vastly improved emissions and fuel economy over current examples while boosting availability of power and torque.

"The result of an exhaustive development process that included extensive research amongst customers around the world, the all-new Isuzu D-Max is an incredibly appealing package that will deliver in every key area that matters to those in farming, construction and other outdoor industries", claimed William Brown, general manager of Isuzu UK, at the announcement.

"Available from June through a dedicated, expanding dealer network, this new model will reinforce Isuzu’s strong reputation as the pick-up professionals. I’m confident that the new Isuzu D-Max will continue the record of impressive year-on-year sales growth that has seen the UK become the brand’s number one European market", added Brown.

Full availability details have yet to be announced, along with the all-important on-the-road pricing information.
