Our Rating
Akasa's Enigma is a case for Mini-ITX motherboards, such as Gigabyte's GA-GC230D.
It's smaller than the Silverstone LC12B case used in this month's Computer Workshop, but it can take only a 2½in laptop hard disk and not a full-size 3½in model.
The optical drive and hard disk screw into a drive tray. Once this is removed, you can squeeze the motherboard into the bottom of the case. Sadly, once you have everything plugged in, the mess of cables makes it difficult to screw the drive tray into place. To leave the maximum amount of room, we recommend right-angle connector SATA cables and a round IDE cable for the optical drive. An external laptop-style power supply is included, rated at 80W.
Akasa's Enigma is a good-looking case and a good choice if you want a tiny PC. Most people, however, will be better off with Silverstone's easier-to-build case.
