Sigma 18-50mm f/3.5-5.6 DC review
This low-cost lens's 18-50mm zoom is less than that of the kit lenses bundled with entry-level digital SLRs, but we were curious to find out whether it produced better pictures.
We compared it to the 18-55mm kit lens included with the Canon EOS 400D, and although the Sigma DC feels better made, its pictures were worse. Focus wasn't as sharp, although it maintained a fair degree of sharpness towards the edges of photos.
Considering that £70 is more than the price difference between body-only SLRs and SLRs with kit lenses, we recommend sticking with the kit if your budget is limited.
