Verdict:
Exceptional quality in good lighting. low-light shoooting is disappointing, and it's pricey.

Our Rating
In darker conditions, such as indoors without flash, the Kodak reclaimed some ground, exhibiting less noise as the cameras' sensitivities were turned up. Photos taken at ISO 800 (increased from the default ISO 100 to allow shooting in lower light) were passable from the Kodak, but very noisy and unclear from the Panasonic.
12 megapixel compact cameras are still a novelty, and neither of these models is particularly good value at the moment. Even so, Panasonic's FX100 is the best example we've seen.
