Samsung announces PL90 compact

Samsung has updated its point and shoot line-up with an innovative new model which holds the promises to keep you connected on holiday with no cable to become lost.
The Samsung PL90 is a 12.2 megapixel compact camera with an integrated fold-out USB connector, allowing users to plug it in to any PC or laptop without the need for a USB cable. For those who find themselves using a variety of computers with their camera, Samsung has also included its Intelli-Studio software on the device - which can automatically install itself to connected systems to allow easy access to images stored on the camera.
As well as transferring images, the in-built USB connector also allows users to change the camera's internal battery - replacing both USB and power cables on the device.
As is common with compact cameras, Samsung has included a Smart Auto mode which analyses shooting conditions in order to configure the camera for maximum image quality, and a self portrait mode which uses face tracking and an audible alert to let the user know when they've positioned themselves in the frame. Samsung has also added a Beauty Shot mode, which the company claims "allows users to adjust brightness and face tone, while also reducing flaws on all faces in a photo."
The PL90 is expected to launch in the US next month for $149.99 (around £94), but UK pricing and availability hasn't yet been confirmed by Samsung.
