Sony EVIL NEX 3 details leaked

Details of Sony's up-and-coming high-end mirrorless compact camera, the EVIL NEX 3, have been leaked ahead of its launch - and it's looking pretty impressive so far.
Based around a 14.2 megapixel APS-C-sized sensor, the camera is designed to bridge the gap between a full mirror-based digital SLR and a point-and-shoot compact camera. Unlike a normal compact, the NEX 3 features a Sony E Series lens mount - allowing the use of differing lenses for differing situations, just like an SLR - while the size of the camera is a more portable, slimmer form than that of a traditional SLR.
According to specifications posted during an early, NDA-covered review over on Digital Photography School, the camera - which is due to launch in a variety of colours - will feature continuous shooting at up to seven frames per second, video recording at up to 720p resolution at thirty frames per second, and a shutter speed between 30 to 1/4000 of a second. The unit is controlled via an adjustable display at the rear.
If 720p recording isn't enough, the review suggests that its bigger brother, the NEX 5, will up that to full 1080p HD video recording - although that isn't confirmed, and there's no mention of whether it manages a full 30 frames per second.
With so-called 'bridge' cameras proving extremely popular with prosumer photographers, Sony could well have a winner on its hands with the NEX series.
