Philips' PSC710NC is a smart-looking webcam. It's also available for £5 more with a headset, as the PSC715NC. Its curved stand and vertically movable lens allow you to sit it on your desk or on top of the monitor and still get a good picture.
It can take still images at 800x600 and 30fps video at 640x480. Quality is good, but we looked shiny under our office lighting. The VLounge software has a neat face-tracking option. Using a digital zoom, it keeps your face in the middle of the picture, great for video calls.
The PSC710NC has a built-in microphone but is missing motion detection for security. For video calls, it's well priced and excellent quality.
