LG L1750H review

Our Rating 4 stars out of 5

The LCD monitor market is primarily price driven. Monitor prices keep dropping steadily and screen quality is improving in leaps and bounds, so manufacturers are looking for other ways to make their screens stand out from the crowd.

The L1750H does this by adding numerous features and attractive styling at a budget price. There are cheaper monitors available at this size with similar screen quality, but few have all the features available here.

This monitor has D-sub and DVI inputs. It also has a response time of 12ms, which is fast for a screen at this price. Response time measurements can be misleading and some supposedly fast screens end up looking blurred, but we were more than happy with the L1750H.

Image quality is satisfactory. The L1750H passed all our tests running at its native 1,280x1,024 resolution. Our colour and greyscale tests were displayed with smooth transitions. The colours on our test photos were vibrant. They were possibly a bit over-saturated for our liking, but this should only be a problem in photo manipulation. Backlighting was consistent across most of the screen, with just a hint of fading in the extreme corners.

The L1750H is attractive with its slim silver bezel and black stand. The stand twists at the bottom and is height adjustable, so you can keep the screen at eye level to reduce strain.

The monitor has a built-in power supply that reduces desk clutter and is TCO 03-compliant. It has low power consumption in use and on standby, 40W and 1W respectively, which saves you money on electricity and is better for the environment.

This is a decent monitor at a decent price.
