Sovos announces full-colour E-Reader+

UK-based manufacturer Sovos has announced a new electronic book reader, the SVEBK5B E-Reader+, due for launch in June.
The 5in device, eschews the more traditional e-ink display for an LCD, which allows full-colour images - although the screen will be harder to read in direct sunlight, and limits the device to seven hours reading time.
Perhaps the most interesting feature of the device is its ability to play back videos, with audio provided either via the integral speaker or a standard 3.5mm headphone jack - although the company is vague on the formats supported.
Thankfully, the e-book formats supported are more comprehensively detailed: with support for the popular ePub format along with PDF, plain text, HTML, FB2, and PDB most content should be covered - sadly, Sovos hasn't detailed whether DRM-locked files will be supported.
The E-Reader+ is set to include 1GB of integral storage, plus an SD slot for expansion, and a USB port to transfer data to the device - unlike rivals including Amazon's Kindle, there is no wireless data connection option.
The Sovos SVEBK5B E-Reader+ is due to launch in the UK on the 1st of June for £149.99, although some sites including Play.com are taking pre-orders at a more reasonable £99.99.
