Reclaim your Facebook snaps with Seagate BackUp Plus

If you're the kind of person who uploads photos to Facebook from their phone, but then deletes the original file when out of space, then Seagate's new range of portable hard disks come with a very useful trick.
Unveiled last night, the Seagate BackUp Plus drives also include software that can download your pictures from Facebook or Flickr. We saw a quick demo and it's very easy to use, you simply allow an app to be loaded into your Facebook account, and then this gives the Seagate software the ability to pull down the photos and save them (by default) to your PCs hard disk.
It really is as complex as clicking a button
Of course, the pictures are only at the compressed quality that Facebook stores them, but many people won't be too bothered by that (especially if they came from a mobile phone in the first place). The whole process can be done at a click of a button, and only new photos, which haven't been downloaded before are saved.
Nice-looking drives, which come with USB3 but use interchangeable end pieces should you require Thunderbolt later
The software is also capable of the usual file and folder backup routines. So, on the default settings, you'll end up with three copies of your precious snaps. One on Facebook, one on your PCs hard disks and another backed up to the portable hard disk itself.
The BackUp Plus range is available in both portable (pictured) and desktop forms, with storage capacities going up to 1GB and 4GB respectively.
