Proporta Twisted System review

Verdict:

Great for travelling and well-designed, but there are better USB speakers for pure sound quality.

Our Rating 3 stars out of 5

Proporta's Twisted System speakers are designed for laptops or mobile devices, as they can either be powered via USB or with three AAA batteries. The name derives from the fact that the speaker boxes can be twisted so that the drivers, which normally form the "top" of each box, face forward instead – so you can blast “The Kids are Back” in whatever direction you wish.

Proporta Twisted System

One of the speakers is the main control unit. Its batteries can power both speakers (you can keep a spare set in the other speaker) or you can connect to a USB power source. The System sounds better than average laptop speakers, but it lacks bass and isn't that much louder. The design makes them easy to pack away, the choice of power source gives you flexibility, and they're reasonably priced. If you're just looking for USB powered speakers, though, then the Logitech Z205 set has better sound.
