This new label printer from Brother connects to a wireless network, although you'll need a PC to configure it. Once set up you can install Brother's software to print labels from PCs on the network, or download free label printing apps for Android or iOS devices.

It's a thermal printer, so there are no consumables other than the reels of labels on which it prints. There's a wide range of these but they're not especially cheap: 400 standard address labels cost about £8 – at 2p each that's more than the envelopes you might want to put them on.
Still, the lack of ink means that labels can be applied immediately without smudging, and the QL-710W's autocutter is fuss-free. Together with Brother's impressive mobile apps, it adds up to a slick and useful device.
