Our Rating 5 stars out of 5

This is an eight-socket multiplug which, in addition to protecting your equipment from power surges, also helps to eliminate the energy used by devices in standby mode. Of the Conserve Surge's eight power sockets, six are for appliances that can be completely powered down. Into the remaining two you should connect devices that need to remain on standby, such as a PVR which may be set to record programmes overnight.

The clever part is the wireless remote control switch which allows you to switch the six devices on or off from anywhere in your home within a 20m range. The switch can also be wall mounted so you can easily turn the power off as you leave the house or before you go to bed. The remote control switch can control up to eight Conserve Surge Protectors, providing even greater energy and cost savings. It isn't the cheapest, but it will pay for itself in months.
