Microsoft Wired Desktop 600 review
Verdict:
A basic wired keyboard and mouse set, that's ideal for anyone on a tight budget that doesn't do a lot of typing.

Our Rating
Microsoft's Wired Desktop 600 is one of the few keyboard and mice sets that uses a wired USB, rather than wireless, connection. While this means the mouse may occasionally snag on desktop clutter, you won't have to worry about scrabbling around for replacement batteries.
It's a fairly plain set, with the keyboard having just four shortcut buttons on the top and a calculator button above the numeric keypad. It also feels fairly cramped, with the left Shift key a little smaller than is comfortable. Although quiet, the keys feel a little bit slippery, which limits typing speeds. The keys are otherwise responsive and easy to use.
The included mouse is very basic and has a lightweight, symmetrical design. It uses an LED to detect movement, so isn't as good on shiny surfaces as laser mice, although it's nothing that a mouse matt won't fix.
If you don't do a lot of typing and want a cheap set, the Wired Desktop 600 is excellent value.
