Logitech G9x review

Verdict:

The G9x is loaded with features and has one of the highest sensitivity settings we've seen on a gaming mouse, but it's very expensive.

Our Rating 3 stars out of 5

Rated at 5,000dpi, the G9x has the highest sensitivity of all the mice on test, but we found the angular design to be less comfortable than some of the others. We also found little difference between this mouse and SteelSeries' 3,200dpi Ikari Laser.

Two buttons are hidden away on the underside of the G9x; one switches between the smooth and clicking motion of the scroll wheel, the other changes the active profile. We'd have preferred the profile button to be located on top of the mouse.

The profiles can be customised using the SetPoint software, as can the three sensitivity settings; the latter can be quickly switched between using the two controls just below the left mouse button.

The weight of the mouse can also be altered. Logitech supplies a weight pack comprising four 4g and four 7g weights. Up to four of these can be inserted into a small compartment at the rear of the mouse, but since most gamers prefer lightweight mice it is something of a gimmick.

The G9x is loaded with features, but it's also very expensive. There are better gaming mice for less.
