Scosche solChat Bluetooth hands free kit review
Verdict:
A clever idea, but it's expensive and, given the amount of sun we get in the UK, it's of questionable use.

Our Rating
The solCHAT is a solar powered Bluetooth handsfree kit for use in the car. It's around the size of a packet of cigarettes and comes with a suction mount for attaching to the windscreen, plus a clip for hooking it on to a sun visor.
On a sunny day, the solCHAT will charge in 18 hours (which could be several days' worth in Britain), but it can be charged via USB in just three. Alternatively, a cigarette lighter adaptor is also included.
It's easy to pair the solCHAT with your phone, and it supports voice dialling as long as your phone does. You can answer and reject calls, plus it works with call waiting. A caller ID function says the name of who's calling, and also gives voice instructions. At this price, though, the solCHAT is too expensive to recommend.
