Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev2 review
Verdict:
It's a little fiddly to fit, but its cooling performance is good and it's decent value, too.

The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro conveniently comes with its thermal paste pre-applied. A plastic mounting plate has to be clipped onto the motherboard, but you don't need access to the motherboard's underside to install it. The mounting bracket for your processor is then locked into place on the mounting plate using two pairs of plastic pegs.
It's a little fiddly, but it's not too difficult to accomplish. Although the 92mm fan is pre-attached, it has to be removed to fit the heatsink onto the mounting plate. It's not as inconvenient as it sounds as removing and reattaching the fan is easy enough.
We were impressed by how quiet the Freezer 7 Pro was. When the processor was idle, its temperature didn't rise above 25C and the fan ran at a low speed of 548rpm. However, when the processor was under load its temperature rose to a high 48C while the fan lounged at a leisurely 1,361rpm.
The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is a good cooler and is good value too at £20. Easier to fit fans that can keep a processor running even cooler are available for a little more cash though.
