The Akasa Everest is a reassuringly sturdy metal laptop stand. It's adjustable so you can raise your laptop screen to the most comfortable eye-level, but the front support brace blocks off access to any front-mounted slots on your laptop.
The Everest also has a four port USB hub and a pair of USB-powered speed-adjustable cooling fans – yet connects to your computer using just a single USB cable. The fans should keep your laptop from getting too hot when running demanding tasks. In our tests it only reduced the surface temperature of our laptop by three degrees though.
The Everest is a good laptop stand, with a useful USB hub, but its cooling capabilities aren't particularly impressive. It's also a little overpriced so it's not for everyone.
