An audio-centric webcam that might appeal to YouTube-obsessed singer songwriters.

Our Rating
Blue Microphone's Eyeball 2.0 looks nothing like a webcam. It's dominated by its chunky microphone, while the camera lens just pops out from the side when needed. Both camera and base are chunky, but its easy to position on a desk or atop a laptop screen.
It has a good specification, with its high quality condenser microphone and a video resolution of 1,600x1,200 at 30fps. Audio quality is remarkably clear and rich. Image quality is generally clear and sharp, but video quality can't compare to similarly priced webcams from Logitech.
Despite excellent audio quality and the manual's assurances that we can use the microphone to record our best instrument or favourite solo, we're not convinced that the world really needs an audiophile webcam. Although teenagers on YouTube will probably prove us wrong.
