Verdict:
It's a great way to get music off your phone or laptop, but range isn't always very good.

Our Rating
This little mains-powered device provides a neat, affordable way to enjoy MP3 collections in the living room. It receives music from A2DP-compatible Bluetooth players, including most mobile phones and laptops, plus various MP3 players such as the current iPod touch range.
Bluetooth pairing is easy, and incoming music is piped via the supplied analogue line cable to your speaker system. The only potential snag is audio drop-outs. Our Toshiba laptop could be temperamental at two metres away but a Sony Ericsson phone worked fine at up to four metres.
Browsing large music libraries using a player’s own controls is far easier than using a network media-streaming device. The Bluetooth Music Receiver is also great for beefing up general laptop sounds – videos’ soundtracks played in perfect sync – and even better for a netbook or (whisper it) iPad running Spotify.
