Imagine the ultimate sequel, anyone for a game of Football II?

Tomorrow then sees the launch of Football II for the Koreans. Starcraft II is being released worldwide, but it’s the Korean launch that has generated big publicity. The national carrier’s planes have been rebranded with Starcraft II graphics – a move we haven't seen for a game since the height of the Pokemon craze.
Players in the big leagues will have the rug pulled from under their feet. Thousands of hours of training and an intimate knowledge of every unit and its abilities will go right out the window. Starting from scratch, the tactics book will be completely rewritten. Top players should still shine through, though, as the best are able to complete around 200 actions per minute, more than three a second.
Based on previews, the game itself is pretty sound, though it will have an uphill struggle trying to reinvent the increasingly-tired real-time strategy genre. Further still, it will need to replicate the fine balance of the original’s three competing forces if it’s to thrill South Korean fans for another decade. Still, if anyone can pull it off, then Blizzard (developers of World of Warcraft) should be able to – and a good brace of initial reviews should result in a big sigh of relief from that part of the world.
