Blizzard details Diablo III Collector's Edition

Blizzard has announced plans to release a special Collector's Edition of its upcoming action-RPG Diablo III, with some impressive extras included in the bundle.

According to details announced by the company as BlizzCon this weekend, the Diablo III Collector's Edition will include - in addition to a copy of the game - a 4GB USB flash drive in the shape of a Soulstone with a copy of Diablo II, a skull-shaped dock for the drive and a two-disk Blu-ray/DVD bundle with behind-the-scenes of the game's development.

In addition, buyers can expect a 200-page art book, a copy of the game's soundtrack, and as-yet unconfirmed exclusive in-game content which is believed to be unavailable to those buying the standard edition, no matter how much they might play.

The Diablo series uses item-crafting and 'loot drop' dynamics to suck gamers in, alongside a simple to pick up 'click to attack' game mechanic. It has proved exceptionally popular, with fans eagerly awaiting the third instalment.

Sadly for those who prefer to do their gaming away from the PC, Blizzard was not forthcoming with any additional details about the expected console release of the game.
