FIFA 15 Ultimate Team web app arrives on Android and iOS

FIFA 15 Ultimate Team

FIFA 15 web app is now available, along with apps for Android, iOS and Windows Phone

The FIFA 15 Ultimate Team app is now available worldwide on both iOS and Android. Earlier this week the FIFA Ultimate Team app for iPhone and iPad was unavailable in the UK despite launching in Canada. The app has also launched on the Windows Phone store.

Delays to the launch of the iOS app come after problems with the The FIFA 15 Ultimate Team web app, which finally launched last week. When it did launch EA’s servers struggled to cope with demand, the company saying it was working hard to fix the problems. Users complained that they were unable to use the web app as it wouldn’t load.

The server problems followed on from two days of delays as EA readied the FIFA 15 Ultimate Team web app for launch. On Thursday EA was unable to confirm exactly when it would launch before it became available sometime after 8pm. In a post on Twitter EA said that the FIFA 15 web app would launch Thursday.

Earlier in the day EA had said that it would provide an update at 6pm, but when the update came it was only confirmation that people would have to keep waiting. In an update on its Twitter account this afternoon EA said it was still working hard on the FIFA 15 Ultimate Team web app and promised that it would launch this evening:

In preperation for the launch EA has released the FIFA 15 Ultimate Team apps for Android and iOS, although the iOS version is only available to download from the Canadian App Store at present.

EA was expected to launch the hotly-anticipated FIFA 15 web app yesterday, but struggled to get it online in time. Ultimate Team was down for maintenance yesterday, with EA saying it was carrying out “scheduled maintenance”.

On Wednesday EA posted an update to its Twitter account confirming that the FIFA web app launch was imminent:

Further updates confirmed more maintenance work and downtime for FIFA Ultimate Team, with EA saying it will launch sometime this evening but not before 6pm UK time.

EA has also posted a video showing new features and gameplay footage from FIFA 15 Ultimate Team. FIFA 15 launches on the 23 September in the US, 25 September in the EU and 26 September in the UK and is available for Windows, PS3, PS4, Vita, Nintendo 3DS, Wii, iOS, Android, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

FIFA Ultimate Team lets players build all-star teams to play online against other people. The web app means that people can tinker with their teams from their browser without needing to be sat in front of a games console.

People can buy packs of new players and trade them to build better and better squads. Ultimate Team sits alongside the current releases of FIFA, with players able to use their all-star team in online tournaments and one-off matches.
