Stars look to games for exposure

Celebrities are turning to the world of gaming to lap up limelight. Jamie Oliver, Guns N' Roses and Bob Dylan are all featuring in games this summer as they set out to explore a new avenue to increase their exposure.
Guns N' Roses and Dylan are premiering new tracks through MTV Games' upcoming release 'Rock Band 2'. The follow-up to the popular Rock Band title will feature 100 songs from major label artists. Amongst them, GN'R will debut their first release from a much anticipated album, entitled "Chinese Democracy".
The band has not released an album since 1993, but generated a buzz last year when they promised the LP would be released in March 2007.
Oliver, meanwhile, is releasing his own game, entitled "What's Cooking? With Jamie Oliver". The TV chef will walk players through virtual and real-life cooking scenarios on the Nintendo DS. Oliver looks to provide a helping hand with players eager to improve their cooking skills, covering everything from shopping, chopping and dressing up dishes.
The game also includes an interactive cookbook with 100 of Oliver's recipes.
"I really want to get as many people as I can cooking simple, tasty food, so I'm really excited about bringing a book's worth of my recipes to a game for the first time," said Oliver.
"You can cook my recipes for real at home or in the game's 3D kitchens, but what's brilliant is that you can come up with your own recipes then share them with your mates and family over wi-fi. Lovely."
