Guinness World Records 2010: Gamer's Edition celebrates the best, the worst and weirdest in the world of gaming.

Guinness's successful gamer's record book, out now, brings a bit of light to the darkened bedrooms, games studios and LAN party venues that make up the world of the hardcore gamers. It's a compelling read, with beautifully illustrations and thousands of fascinating and off-the-wall facts.
With achievements ranging from best-selling games in every genre to the longest-lasting player corpse on an MMORPG (three years - held by Star Wars Galaxies player Icir), the largest Pokemon memorabilia collection (12,113 items, owned the UK's Lisa Courtney) and the video game character with the most real-life stand-ins (Lara Croft, currently portrayed by Alison Carroll – see photos), there's plenty to keep gamers interested, including the 50 best video games ever, as voted for by Guinness World Record readers.
Of course, where's there's a record, there's the possibility of beating it, and no one likes a challenge as much as a gamer. The book also includes full instructions on setting up your own world record attempt and, if successful, you'll appear in next year's edition.
