Lara Croft gets a street named after her

A Derby ring road is to be named Lara Croft after the star of the Tomb Raider computer games, following a public vote.
The massively popular game franchise (and two rubbish films) was created in by a Core Design, based in the city.
More than 27,000 people took part in the public vote to decide what to call a stretch of the new ring road. A huge 89 per cent voted for Lara Croft Way.
"The vote really captured the imagination of people from across the world," said Derby City councillor Lucy Care. "Despite my lack of gaming knowledge, I accept that a majority of 89 per cent for Lara Croft is too overwhelming to ignore."
