Microsoft shows how a game can be played on Xbox or PC and continued on a Windows Phone 7 Series handset

Microsoft has demonstrated a technology that could allow you to play a game on your PC or Xbox 360 and then continue playing the same game at the point where you left off on your Windows Phone 7 Series handset.
The technology demonstration took place at the TechEd Middle East conference in Dubai but wasn't accompanied by announcements of any actual games using the technology according to a report from Engadget.
The technology looks impressive and has potential, but we'd rather see interlinked games tailored for each platform - PC, console and smartphone - since there are few game genres that work equally well on all three device types.
This isn't the first attempt to link portable games with their bigger, living room-bound counterparts – Sega, Sony and Nintendo have all made similar, but less ambitious attempts. Microsoft may succeed where they failed given its famed relationship with its developers.
