Nintendo 3DS rumoured for October launch
Posted on 21 Apr 2010 at 09:20
If rumours are to be believed Nintendo could launch its 3D-capable handheld console this October, a full two months before Christmas and way before the previously announced March 2011 launch.
UK gaming site CVG managed to get the launch information from several games publishers, who've been informed of the early launch directly by Nintendo.
The new console's stand-out feature is its 3D-style display. As we revealed last month, the console creates the effect of 3D without the requirement for glasses. It does this by using the console's front-facing camera to track the player's face, updating the graphics on screen to give the impression of real 3D. It's an impressive effect, as you can see from the video demonstration.
Additional details of the console and its 3D capabilities should be announced on 15th June at the E3 show in the US.
