Posted on 11 Jan 2007 at 11:09
Pinnacle Systems has launched a WiFi music device that hooks up to a stereo and accesses music stored on a PC or Mac and Internet radio.
The SoundBridge HomeMusic network music player costs £99.99 inc VAT and uses Roku software to sync up with iTunes and other music libraries on your computer via a WiFi connection. It is supplied with a remote control.
As well as iTunes it supports Windows Media Connect, Windows Media Player 10, Napster and PlaysForSure systems and WMA, AAC, MP3, AIFF and WAV formats. There is also support for online services such as Napster and MSN Music.
It also includes an SD card slot so that music can be played off a card without the need to connect to a PC. It can also use the wireless connection to access Internet radio stations, regardless of whether the computer is on or off.
On the wireless front, it supports both the b and g standards as well as 64-bit and 128-bit WEP encryption.
