Posted on 15 Aug 2007 at 07:36
Microsoft has released an Office update that addresses two critical security vulnerabilities.
A flaw in Excel could allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted Excel file. The update modifies the way that Office 2004 handles specially crafted Excel files.
The second flaw lies in in OLE Automation and could also allow remote code execution, in this case if a user viewed a specially crafted Web page. This security update addresses the vulnerability by adding a check on memory requests within OLE Automation.
Microsoft Office 2004 for Mac 11.3.7 Update is available from microsoft.com/mac.
