Cobian Backup 8 review
Verdict:
Simple, easy to use and free. Nice. Not the best backup program on the market, but great for a freebie.

Our Rating
The first thing to say about Cobian Backup is that it's free, so you'd need a reason not to like it, and it's hard to find one.
It does everything that XP Backup would, allowing you to choose files and folders, then back them up according to a schedule or on the fly. The user interface is very professionally designed, which makes it easy to get going.
In addition, Cobian enables you to compress your data and back up to a variety of locations, including network drives and FTP sites. You can also use it to encrypt and password-protect your archives for extra security; but do remember your passkey, as it can't be recovered if you lose it. You can also use Cobian's key generator to create public keys for your own encryption schemes, allowing you to share all kinds of data with other users while keeping it from prying eyes.
