Publish your own book

If you use Word, you can convert your documents to PDF with the free PrimoPDF utility. This ingenious program creates a virtual printer, to which Word can print. Instead of a printed page appearing from a printer, a PDF file appears on your hard disk. After installing PrimoPDF, print the document from Word, selecting 'PrimoPDF' as the printer. When the interface pops up, select a location for the file and press Create PDF.
By now you may be sick of the sight of your manuscript, but it pays to print out the PDF and check it carefully to ensure that all aspects of the content are as you want them. Seeing it in printed form can highlight any subtle errors you missed while looking at it on a computer screen.
Now all that's left is to open your favourite graphics program, create front and back covers, upload everything to the POD service and you're ready to become a published author. Before you release your book to the public, however, you should order a copy for yourself (at a reduced 'author's price') and check it carefully for any lurking typos and formatting errors.
