Trojan hides in Windows 7 torrents
Posted on 29 Apr 2009 at 11:25
Illicit copies of the Windows 7 release candidate may contain a trojan, security experts have warned.
The malware is hidden in copies of Windows 7 that have leaked onto BitTorrent networks ahead of the official release date next week.
The trojan will only be installed if you attempt an in-Windows upgrade of an existing Windows 7 beta, something which Microsoft advises against.
It goes without saying that it won’t be installed if you stay clear of unauthorised software such as this.
