Elgato seeks to Capture old Video
Posted on 8 May 2009 at 11:32
Elgato has released a new device designed to ease the process of converting analogue video, such as old camcorder tapes, to digital formats.
Elgato Video Capture connects VCRs, set top boxes, camcorders, DVD players and other analogue video sources to a Mac, where the included software records video at up to 640 x 480 pixels in the H.264 or MPEG-4 formats.
The software guides users through each step, from connecting the video source to selecting how to watch and share the video. With one click, videos can be transferred to iTunes, played back in QuickTime Player, uploaded to YouTube or opened in iMovie for final editing.
The box includes everything required to transfer video, including a video cable and a SCART adapter. All the Mac needs is a USB 2 port.
Elgato Video Capture requires a Mac with an Intel Core Duo processor and is available now for £89.95.
