PRODUCT UPDATE: Mesh Matrix II TT
Posted on 16 Oct 2009 at 12:35
Mesh's Matrix II TT won a Best Buy award in the November issue of Shopper, but there have been a couple of changes to its specification to be aware of.
While it's still possible to buy the Matrix II TT bundle, please note that the processor in our review system (a Phenom X4 9950) has been discontinued. This has been replaced with the brand new Athlon II X4 620. We have re-benchmarked the PC with this new processor, and we can confirm that it's now slightly faster than before. The previous Overall score of 85 is now 88 with the Athlon II, and each of the subcategories has seen a similar increase.
If you try to order the PC from Mesh's website, you'll see that the monitor has been changed to a 22in Full HD model. However, you can still alter this by clicking the Customise button and choosing the 20in monitor which we reviewed. You may also want to remove the surge protector and anti-virus software from the basket. This will take the price down from £545 to £499, the price we quoted in the magazine. The reason for the change is that Mesh claims to have problems sourcing the Iiyama E2008HDS monitor which was included with the PC.
The rest of the PC's specifications remain the same, and the change in processor doesn't affect the Best Buy award. It's still a great-value computer.
