Sony releases romance and crime themed ebook readers in time for Christmas

As the inevitable Christmas cash-in rises to a fever pitch, Sony has released special edition versions of its eBook Reader.
The Mills & Boon Reader Pocket Edition comes in what Sony describes as an alluring rose pink finish, along with a Proporta leather case with an embossed Mills & Boon rose logo on the cover. Each model comes pre-loaded with three Christmas-themed Mills & Boon titles: Snowbound: Miracle Marriage, Under The Boss's Mistletoe and Christmas Betrothals, as well as a voucher to download ten further titles. We can't wait.
Alternatively, if you have the kind of maiden aunt who prefers a mass-produced crime thriller while she sets to work on the mulled wine and festive sherry, you could instead buy the James Patterson Reader Pocket Edition. It comes pre-loaded with Patterson's best-selling Cross Country, a free download of Worst Case, the new Alex Cross novel not due for publication until January 2010, and a letter from the author, which may or may not also be ghost written.
Other Sony goodies for the festive season include a Hannah Montana Walkman, the high end Walkman X series with built-in noise cancellation and a selection of lightweight netbooks and ultra-portable laptops. Sony's product licensing deals might be a bit dubious, but the technology behind them is as good as ever.
