First Look: Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer

CES 2010: Unveiled at Sony's press conference, the Dash Personal Internet viewer took the audience somewhat by surprise. With support for pictures, music and video (including Sony's Bravia Internet Video streaming service), the 7in touchscreen is designed to act as an alarm clock or kitchen-based mini-computer, and can be flipped over to give a much shallower viewing angle.

There's no storage on-board, but with Wi-Fi and Ethernet, you can connect it online and download over 1500 free applications, covering everything from fan site widgets to social networking utilities and games.

The bad news is that it's currently US-only. But with a potentially wide appeal and a reasonable-sounding price tag of $199, we can't see much reason not to bring it to the UK at some point.

Has anyone else noticed how the rep from Sony seems to blink in the last 3 seconds of the video. It's almost like he's trying to turn off the video with his mind. It's freaking me out!
