Donate your unwanted gadgets to charity during February

According to Computer Aid, 25 million netbooks were bought worldwide in 2009 and 10 million TV sets in the UK alone. It's likely you've acquired other new gadgets at Christmas and there is bound to be old, obsolete kit languishing in cupboards that you'll never use again.

To help you clear out your old kit, Computer Aid will recycle or reuse any unwanted gadgets during February. The charity specialises in refurbishing PCs, laptops and monitors for reuse in schools, hospitals and community projects in developing countries. For the next four weeks donations will be accepted of any working devices, with kit sold through Computer Aid’s eBay account to raise funds for the charity’s work in Africa.

Alternatively, if you’d prefer to make a pretty penny by selling your own gadgets yourself, it’s easy to nominate Computer Aid to receive a percentage of the sale price.

Your listing will automatically receive a charity ribbon so it stands out from the crowd to help you make that sale – and you will aid disadvantaged communities into the bargain.

Just £50 enables Computer Aid to put a PC onto a school desk in Africa, which can give 50 children the opportunity to reach a vocational level of IT literacy. To find out more, visit Computer Aid's website, or call 020 8361 5540.
