Google releases iPad-friendly RSS Reader Player

Google has released an iPad-friendly RSS Reader, the Google Reader Play, which is designed to make flicking through RSS feeds easier and more fun.

Rather than just presenting a long list of headlines, the Reader Play shows each entry full-screen with a large picture that's ideal for viewing on tablets, such as the iPad. To move between stories, you just click the next button or use the film strip at the bottom.

An official blog post said the new tool was ideal for people that "aren't interested in taking the time to get Reader set up".

News items can be marked with Stars, so you can view them later, Like, so you can get similar recommendations, and Share, so you can tell your friends what you're looking at. As a new tool, Reader Play is still part of Labs, but you can try it out now, yourself.
