Bing to offer free ice creams

Microsoft is hoping to use the heat to tempt people towards its Bing search portal - with free ice creams.
According to an announcement picked up by Softpedia, the software giant is hoping to make its Google rival Bing a household name with a major advertising campaign which is set to include an ice cream van touring London, offering free Bing-branded goodies to passers by.
As part of the company's celebration of Bing's one-year anniversary, the ice cream van will be making scheduled tours of the nation's capital throughout this month to hand out ice creams and lollies to all who stop it - free of charge.
If you're hankering for a freebie, you can track the schedule for the van on - what else - a Bing Map set up by Microsoft's Cedric Chambaz.
Chambaz describes the stunt as being designed to "bring summer" to those advertising executives who have yet to be tempted to using Bing as their pay per click platform of choice - although the offer is free to anyone who recognises the van and fancies an ice-cream.
Sadly for those who do not frequent the capital during business hours, Microsoft has not revealed any plans to bring the Bing ice cream van to any other parts of the UK - so you'll have to find alternative ways to cool down and make your choice of search engine this summer.
