Lay siege to your Mac

Dungeon Siege, one of the year's most popular PC games, is coming to the Mac.
In an exclusive interview with MacUser, president of Destineer Studios Peter Tamte revealed his company's next big project will be porting the Microsoft smash hit to the Mac.
Dungeon Siege, which will be released under Destineer's Bold label, combines the immersive elements of a role-playing game with stunning 3D graphics and action. It places players in the role of a humble farmer in a rich fantasy world, where they must face off against an army of evil, while accumulating valuable skills and building up groups of up to eight fighters.
Dungeon Siege also provides a rich multiplayer environment, in which players can become companions in a travelling party and compete head-to-head against opponents over a local network or the Internet.
The Mac version, which is being ported by Westlake Interavailable, is due for release in early 2003.
Tamte set up Destineer in 2001 in order to bring many of Microsoft's most popular games to the Mac. The company's highest-profile project is the forthcoming Mac version of Microsoft's flagship Xbox game, Halo. Destineer is also developing its own unique 3D gaming engine which will form the basis of two original cross-platform titles next year.
