DVD burning, movie editing, TV-viewing machine
£1,499 including VAT is what you need to get hold of HP's Pavilion 782.uk desktop. And as well as allowing you to do all of the above, it also comes with a wireless mouse and keyboard and is Bluetooth ready (courtesy of the supplied dongle).
An Intel Pentium 4 running at 2.8Ghz, 256Mb of DDR memory and an 80Gb drive handles power and storage requirements. Graphics are driven by an ATi All-In-Wonder Radeon 7500 card which comes with a remote control.
A FireWire port lets you hook up your DV camcorder, Pinnacle Studio DV 7 (special edition) is there for movie editing and a DVD+R/RW means you can burn movies, music and data to DVD and CD.
Microsoft supplies Windows XP Home Edition, plus Outlook Express, Picture It, Word and Money. There's HP software too for handling different media on the DVD burner, creating music CDs and setting up ISP accounts.
