HP launch for the Christmas shelves

Two new all-in-one machines and a pocket printer from HP
The PSC 2110 and PSC 2210 combine all those bulky imaging peripherals into one package: the former offering scan, copy and print functions and the latter with a fax and photo card reader to boot.
The models feature HP's six colour printing system and its PhotoREt IV mode that pre-mixes colours before printing (up to 1.2 million) rather than overlaying them. This means smoother tonal graduations, faster printing and more efficient use of ink, claims HP.
The photo card reader on the PSC 2210 accepts Compact Flash type II, Sony Memory Stick, SmartMedia and SD/MMC media, so you can print photos direct from your camera.
The PSC 2110 is £199 inc VAT and the PSC 2210 is £299 inc VAT. Both are available now.
Separately, HP has also released a mini printer, the Photosmart 230, that can print 10 x 15cm borderless prints. At 225 x 202 x 125mm and weighing 1.3kg, it's certainly a small printer, although whether you'd want to lug it around on holiday with you as HP suggests is a different matter. It also operates only off the mains supply, so no printing in the wild.
The Photosmart 230 has a colour LCD panel that enables you to manage and preview your images before printing. It also comes with slots for all the media types mentioned above, so you don't need to connect to a computer to print.
The Photosmart 230 costs £199 inc VAT and is available now.
All the above products come with image-management software and support both Windows and Mac OS operating systems.
