Pavilions and Presarios roll out of the Hewlett-Packard yard.
Common to the four Pavilions and five Presarios are ATi's mobility Radeon graphics card, V.92 modem, IEEE1394 and 10/100 Ethernet ports, as well as Microsoft's XP Home OS and Works 7 software suite.
The Pavilions start off at £899, rising to £1,399, with chips ranging from an Athlon XP 1800+ to a 2.66Ghz P4, 256Mb to 512Mb of DDR 266 memory, 20Gb to 40Gb hard disks and a 14.1 to 15in TFT screen. All have a DVD-ROM CD burner.
The Presarios kick off at £799, up to £1,599, but with chips ranging from a 1.6Ghz Celeron to a 2.8Ghz P4, disks between 20Gb and 40Gb and memory between 128Mb and 512Mb (again DDR clocked at 266Mhz).
Screens are 15in except for the entry model, at 14.1in, which also sports a DVD-ROM drive, while the remainder have a combo CD-burner too. The top-end Presario 2526EA has integrated WLAN.
