Wireless G5's need extra antennae
Posted on 19 Aug 2003 at 12:31
With the first of its new Power Macs due to arrive with customers any day now, Apple has published some additional information on using the machine's AirPort and Bluetooth wireless capabilities.
Presumably because of the Mac's aluminium casing, both features require antennae to be fitted in slots at the rear. The necessary antennae are supplied: a rotatable T-shape for AirPort and a short cylinder for Bluetooth.
Apple notes that although third-party wireless networking and Bluetooth products may include their own antennae, its AirPort antenna should not be 'co-located' with any other except its own Bluetooth antenna.
Further information is available in Knowledge Base articles 86411 and 86413.
