Harman Kardon Soundsticks II review

Verdict:

Review Date: 20 Apr 2004

Price when reviewed: Code: HRM-SOUNDSTICKI

Our Rating 5 stars out of 5

Drop dead gorgeous is the best way to describe these Harman Kardons.

Both the satellites and the subwoofer are constructed from see-through plastic, and they look incredible. In fact, the jellyfish-like subwoofer looks so good you probably won't want to hide it away under your desk at all!

Whether they're used for music, games or movies, the Soundsticks sound sublime. Basslines and explosions have a real weight to them, while the satellites do a great job of keeping even the most busy and complex music crisp and wonderfully clear. The icing on the cake is a touch-sensitive volume control, placed sensibly on the right-hand satellite.

Our only gripes are that to change the bass volume you have to reach around behind the subwoofer, there's no headphone output and they are a little pricey. But when speakers look and sound this good, who cares?
